Kirin Heartland appears to have the best balance of flavor and aroma of all the Japanese beers I’ve tasted so far. It’s not the most complex beer, but it has a nice balance between the hops, malt, and yeast.
Kirin is also the only brewery in the world to produce a beer with a name that rhymes with the word “heartland.” I’m not sure if that’s a coincidence, or if it’s just a clever marketing ploy. Either way, I love it.
